2008 - This will take place early May 2008
2007 - Dominic from Glossop defeated Chris Morton in the final 6-3, 3-6, 7-6.
2006 - Mick Lilley defeated Dominic from Glossop in the final
2005 - Chris Morton defeated Aaron Mellor in the final
2004 - Chris Morton defeated Colin Barratt in the final

2006 tournament 3 (Sept) - Philippe Vandevyvere and Colin Barratt shared the title as final not finished due to darkness !!!

2007 - The first Mens Open Doubles in four years will take place on Sunday 23rd September at 2pm
Between 2004 and 2006, no tournament ran due to lack of sufficient entries
2003 - John Young and Chris Morton won the title defeating Andy Storer and Craig Holland in the final.

Junior Tournaments

There are doubles’ tournaments held monthly, on the last Saturday of each month, at the following times:

08:45am - 11:00am: Year 6 and under
10:45am - 1:30pm: Year 8 and under
11:30am - 2:30pm: Year 11 and under

You may enter with or without a partner for these tournaments, and the price is £4 per person.

The tournament dates are as follows:
April 30th May 28th June 25th July 30th August 27th September 24th

Tournaments 2004

April - Easter social doubles tournament - A very high turnout for this and excellent weather. Winners were Gareth West and Philippe Vandeveyre.

May - Social doubles tournament - The club bar steward Colin Smith and Chris Morton managed to scrape through some tight sets to win this one. Next social doubles tournament will be early August when the team matches are completed. We'll also be having another on the Open Day for the Bowls, Cricket and Tennis Club which takes place weekend 11th Sept.

Mens open singles tournament - Excellent weather again and a good attendance from our's and other clubs. Andy Storer couldn't make it this year to defend his title. After some tough group matches, Bernie McManus and Mick Lilley played a close final with Mick winning on one service break 6-3.

Chris Morton from New Mills won Glossops Open Singles this year plus the Graves division 7/8 Indoor LTA Ratings Tournament.

Sunday 1st July - Club Centenary Doubles tournament
The club centenary doubles tournament was well-attended and a fine day was enjoyed by all. John Young and Carloine Morton won a thrilling one set final against Phil Booth and Val Ballard. Club junior Gareth West also played well in his first senior tournament.

Sunday 19th August - Club singles tournament
Due to initial bad weather, only 7 players attended the doubles tournament on Sunday 19th August. Rather than play with 3 1/2 pairs, it was decided to hold a singles tournament. This was played on a "round-robin" basis.
The end result came down to the last match between Will Fletcher and Chris Morton, which Chris won 4-2. However, Will played at a consistently high level to beat the other players in the tournament.
Many thanks go to all players who attended and a good afternoon of singles tennis was had by all. The tournament coincided with the pub six-a-side cricket event, which was well supported.

Sunday 9th September - Club singles tournament
The club held a mens singles tournament on Sunday 9th September. This was won by Phil McGinnity who played consisently well in all matches. Runner-up was fast-improving junior Will Fletcher.

Sunday 23rd September - Club doubles tournament
The doubles tournament held today (Sunday 23rd September) attracted 14 entrants. The tournament was run under a "round-robin" format. Phil McGinnity and Val Ballard finished the tournament undefeated, winning a number of closely contested sets. John Young and Caroline Morton were runners up.
