History
Originally in the mid 19th century cricket was played down by the river behind Albion Road. Development by the Midland Railway made a move necessary. Thus 2001 was the centenary of both cricket and bowls at the Church Road ground. The opening ceremony took place on 4th May 1901. Immediately afterwards the first match was played: New Mills v Hayfield. Hayfield won.

Today
Currently all our teams play in the Derbyshire & Cheshire League which is sponsored by Meridian Contract Hire, Sales & Leasing. Many other local businesses sponsor our matches, junior kit and match balls. We are very grateful for their support.

We enter the following teams in both league and cup competitions - 1st XI, 2nd XI, U17's, U15's, U14's, U13's.

Coaching & Net Practice
During the season (mid April-September) senior net practice is on Tuesday evenings. Junior coaching and net practice is on Thursday evening in the summer and there is a coaching course at the leisure centre in winter. This is usually held after Christmas, on Sundays.

New talent is always welcome so if you wish to become a member come along to the ground during the season or contact any of the officials listed, or any member of the club.
