failed to carry their first half performance and for long
periods of the second half they were penned in by the visitors.
Rick Cohen making his first team debut in the New Mills goal

a Ben Hall goal the Millers played the last twenty minutes
with only ten men and just failed to hold on. Several players
picked up knocks including Dale Johnson who limped off after
twenty minutes . Hopefully most of these injured players will

Pay For Missed Chances: New Mills 1 - East Manchester 2
New
Mills suffered their first home defeat of the season in Saturdays
game against East Manchester. In a game filled with chances
The Millers started well on top with Rick Jones rattling the
visitors crossbar in the first five minutes. With the game
going from end to end, a sweeping move involving skipper Littler,
Steven Land and Stacey Wild ended with Dave Clarke
giving the Millers the lead, which they held until the interval.
New
Mills struggled to maintain their first-half form, and were
forced to pay for their earlier misses when two goals from
Stewart and Wilson gave East Manchester the three points.
A dissapointing result for the Millers, in a game they could
have won, but they still remain in the top-half of the table.

the visitors, but poor finishing kept the scores level.
With
the home side down to ten men and only minutes remaining a
goalmouth scramble ended with Danny Slater forcing
the ball home to give the Millers the three points.
