Artist
After leaving the warmer climes of South
East England Amanda now lives in New Mills with her husband
and three children. Since
moving to the North West Amanda embarked on a total career
change, moving from a management position in IT to retrain
as a freelance creative designer utilising a variety of
art and craft techniques.
Over
the past thirteen years Amanda has studied art and craft
and led successful craft workshops at Hobbycraft and the
Mottram based Card Creation Company. Amanda has also made
guest appearances on Granada TV's 'Simply DIY'
Amanda
runs a wide variety of mobile workshops tailored to suit
your requirements. These include working in primary and
secondary schools (either as a curriculum based lesson
or as a fun activity), youth groups (Brownies, Guides,
youth clubs etc) and other groups or clubs - all ages
and abilities!
Also
available are talks and demonstrations with a 'hands on'
option suitable for W.I., social clubs, University of
the Third Age to name but a few. Or how about a 'training
the trainers' session, giving new ideas to group leaders,
teachers (inset sessions), childminders etc. enabling
you to run successful craft groups yourself.
Amanda
has ventured into selling her much sought after art via
electronic auctioning (ebay.co.uk and search for Amanda
Whewell) with many pieces of her art going to collectors
around the world.
