NEW MILLS
FESTIVAL 2001
September
8th to 22nd

A Life Well Lived - 2.30pm Sunday 16th Sept
St Mary's Hall, St Mary's Road

The play was commissioned by the Peak District National Park and is suitable for children from 7 years and upwards and their families. It is an historical play and looks at many of the changes that have occurred over the past fifty years.

The drama unfolds after the death of the grandmother. The play begins when the daughter arrives to sort out the house. She discovers the attic. In the attic there is an trunk with lots of old interesting objects. It is through these objects that we learn about the grandmother's life, from her involvement in the mass trespass to the land army during the war, right up until the present day. The play is a celebration of the Peak District's 50 years as a National Park.

The play lasts for 45 minutes.
