Lantern-making Workshops

Make your own lantern for the
Walkway Procession on 22nd Sept,
(Library Lecture Room).
50p per session including materials

Held six times throughout Festival fortnight. Learn to make a willow-frame and paper lantern ready for the Procession on the last Saturday. You will need to attend at least two sessions to complete one lantern.
For all ages. A relaxing, family activity.

1) Sat 8th Sept 10am-12
2) Sat 8th Sept 2-4pm

4) Fri 14th Sept 7-9pm
5) Sat 15th Sept 10-12am
6) Sat 15th Sept 2-4pm

 

Grand Lantern Procession on Millennium Walkway

7pm Sat 22nd September assemble Wirksmoor Rd Recreation Gd.


If you have made a lantern during Festival 2001 bring it along to the recreation field off Wirksmoor Road. If you haven't got a lantern, still come along! Bring a torch instead. Weather permitting, The Derbyshire Building Society's hot air balloon will be there as well. Walk in the Procession through the Torrs, which will be lit with fire sculptures and finish up at Mousely Bottom with a fireworks display by Pa-BOOM.
A lovely event for families and folk of all ages. (Route accessible to wheelchairs).
