One World Festival 2006

FUNDRAISER – HAYFIELD Nov 10th

Plans are well under way for the 18th One World Festival, which will be held in High Lea Park, New Mills on 23rd June, 2007. The event is the High Peak’s premiere open-air festival, mixing the best in live music with thought provoking debate on vital issues. The theme next year will be ‘Environmental Access’ – freeing up the land access with the 75th anniversary of the Kinder Trespass, including such issues as disabled access, access to the moors, rural transport and moors for the future.

This free festival could not happen without the generous support of local people for fundraising efforts throughout the year. The next fundraiser will be held at Hayfield Conservative Club, on Friday 10th November, starting at 8 pm, with ‘The Carbs’.

‘The Carbs’ are a New Mills based band, specialising in up tempo R&B and Rock 'n' Roll, with the odd "rock classic" thrown in for good measure. With a wealth of experience and a driving piano and guitar-led sound, the band continues to perform to a growing fan base across the North West and beyond

Tickets for what is certain to be a brilliant and very popular night are £4 and are available from Marie Brown Design, High St. New Mills. Tickets will be limited, so please get yours soon, make sure you don’t miss out and come along to support the unique and ever successful One World Festival.

Volunteers are needed to help the One World Festival – if you can offer your services please phone: 01663 744541
