Mondays - Expectant Mum & Baby Group - and every Monday - 10-12 at Low Leighton Methodist Church, High Hill Rd. Baby too young for toddler groups? Want somewhere to meet other Mums? Tea, coffee and toast for you and play mats and toys for your under 1’s, and the company of other Mum’s with young babies. Pilates sessions also. Run by High Hill Parent & Todler Group.

 New Mills Parade & Fete - June

Starting from Meal St / High St, the Parade procession of decorated floats and walkers in fancy dress makes its way through New Mills to the Fete Field where there is a Fair, Stalls, Displays and Entertainment for all.


 One World Festival - June 23rd

The One World Festival celebrates the one world we all share and why it is worth working for. It takes place in High Lea Park on a Saturday in early summer.

Many varied community, environmental and global action groups have stalls to communicate their work and ideas. There is music in a range of world styles, interactive art, talks on global and community issues, food, etc - an informative and enjoyable afternoon.


 New Mills Festival - September

A wide-ranging programme of music, theatre, workshops, exhibitions, participation activities and other community events over three weeks in September form the New Mills Festival, organised by volunteers.

The Festival aims to appeal to all ages and interests, with quality performances and family participation, to provide fun for all. Local talent and famous national names appear in the impressive list of events.


 Community Bonfire - November

New Mills Community Bonfire and fireworks display is on a Saturday close to Nov 5th in High Lea Park.
A large bonfire in the upper park lights and warms the crisp night. Below the hall, a lengthy spectacular display of ground-level and sky-burst fireworks holds a substantial audience enthralled.
The event is organised by a voluntary
Bonfire Committee who raise funds through the year.
