Providence
United Reformed Church on Mellor Road is a growing church, where
everyone is very welcome.
Built in 1823, it
has adapted through the years to meet the changing needs of
those around it, and it is still responding today.
Under the leadership
of Revd. Jane Barron, we are part of the Goyt Valley Pastorate,
joined with the United Reformed Churches in Marple and Marple
Bridge. This partnership encourages us to look at new ways of
living out our faith in our communities.
Worship is held every
Sunday at 10.30a.m. Evening services are held once a month,
rotating around the three churches of the pastorate. We have
a lively Junior Church at which children of all ages are welcome.
Providence has a
strong commitment to opening its doors to the wider community
of New Mills, and as such has plans underway to adapt the premises
to make them more accessible and versatile, providing new facilities
for a variety of local community groups.
Mission
